Livestock Camp

Dates: May 29 - June 2
Ages: 8 and Up
Fee: $190

  • Learn to groom, clip, wash and show livestock.
  • Make a rope halter to take home.
  • Test your knowledge with quiz bowl activities.
  • Activities during free time such as kickball, campfires and nature walks.
  • Please indicate on your registration what species of animal you plan to bring to camp (youth are encouraged to bring their own livestock).
  • No swine or rabbits.
  • Enjoy mud pit, tug of war and other fun activities

*Registration for Livestock Camp begins at 4 p.m. Tuesday with dismissal at 11 a.m. Saturday*

Wish I Had a Horse Camp

Dates: May 29 - June 2
Ages: 8 - 10
Fee: $190

  • 15 camper limit. Bring your parent or leader to help. One chaperone per three campers is required.
  • 5 horses will be provided. Bring a riding helmet.
  • Activities include learning to saddle, bridle, ride, lead and drive a horse.
  • Other activities include grooming demonstrations, contests, and a halter show.

*Registration for Wish I Had a Horse Camp begins at 4 p.m. Tuesday with dismissal at 11 a.m. Saturday*

Outdoor Adventures for Military Connected Youth

Dates: June 3-7
Ages: 8 - 12
Fee: $190 ($75 paid by youth, remainder funded through the Department of Defense/Operation:Military Kids camp grant)

  • This camp is specifically designed for youth from military-connected families (dependents, siblings, nieces and nephews, etc.) from all military branches.
  • Enjoy a variety of fun traditional camp activities, together with sessions that focus on the life events youth face as a military family member.
  • Learn outdoor activities such as archery, fishing, and a climbing rock.
  • Make friends at camp activities such as the social and educational sessions.
  • Enjoy the campfires: sing camp songs, roast marshmallows, participate in skits.

Barrel and Pole Horse Camp

Dates: June 3-7
Ages: 8 and Up
Fee: $190

  • This is a basic camp for you and your horse.
  • The camp deals strictly with barrels and poles.
  • Horses must be well broken. Riding helmet required.
  • Learn about horse nutrition, selection, and general care.
  • Learn barrel and pole patterns.
  • Take trail rides along the Missouri River among the cottonwoods.
  • A qualifying horse show will follow the camp on Thursday.

Horsemanship Camp

Dates: June 3-7
Ages: 8 and Up
Fee: $190

  • This is a basic camp for you and your horse. (Horses must be well trained and the camper able to saddle, bridle and care for their horse.)
  • Learn how to become a better rider and practice common 4-H horse show classes. (showmanship, horsemanship, pleasure and trail)
  • Horses must be well broken.
  • Learn about horse nutrition, selection, and general care.
  • Enjoy swimming, campfires, and games.
  • Show off your skills in a fun horse show on the last day of camp.

Survivor Outdoor Recreation Camp I

Dates: June 10-14
Ages: 9 and Up
Fee: $190

  • Enjoy Western 4-H Camp's 6th annual rendition of the Survivor Game.
  • Campers will compete to win "challenges" for the coveted immunity idol.
  • Challenges will include a water obstacle course, after-dark challenges, team competitions and many more action-packed events.
  • Competition against other teams will build friendships of a lifetime.
  • Nightly tribal council ceremonies will result in rewards and loss of privileges.
  • Team building, leadership and self confidence will be the ultimate outcome for campers.

Outdoor Skills Camp

Dates: June 17 - 21
Ages: 10 - 15
Fee: $190

  • Experience live-fire exercises in all the shooting disciplines.
  • Certified instructors will teach classes in shotgun, air rifle, rifle, archery, hunting skills, tree stand safety, ATV certification, fishing and operating personal watercraft.
  • Cook Dutch oven grub and make jerky.
  • Go on a raccoon hunt.
  • Pitch a tent and sleep under the stars.
  • Youth age 12 and older can achieve personal watercraft and ATV certification.

Clover Camp

Dates: June 22-23
Ages: 6 - 8 (accompanied by a parent, grandparent or guardian)
Fee: $115 (for 1 adult and 1 child) (each additional child is $40)

  • This is a great first-time overnight camp experience.
  • Explore the outdoors, learn about birds and other wildlife.
  • Campers will participate in craft projects and lots of other fun activities
  • Come see why kids have so much fun at camp!

*Registration for Clover Camp begins at 1 p.m. Friday with dismissal at 1 p.m. Saturday*

Military Youth Camp I

Dates: June 24-28
Ages: 8 - 11
Fee: $190 ($75 paid by youth, remainder funded through the Department of Defense/Operation: Military Kids camp grant)

  • This camp is intended for youth who are members of military families.
  • Youth will grow in areas such as self-confidence and independence through adult-led activities.
  • Through team leadership activities, youth will form life long bonds with other military youth.
  • Campers will develop resiliency skills through team building activities such as friendly competitions, meals with a twist, water fun, mud pit action and much more.
  • This camp is sponsored by Operation:Military Kids.

Military Youth Camp II

Dates: Jun 24-28
Ages: 12 - 15
Fee: $190 ($75 paid by youth, remainder funded through the Department of Defense/Operation: Military Kids camp grant)

  • This camp is intended for youth who are members of military families.
  • Youth will strengthen their leadership skills while completing action-packed activities.
  • Military & 4-H based curriculum will be intertwined with traditional camp activities.
  • Campers will form life long bonds with other military youth.
  • Youth will gain an understanding of the different branches of the military.
  • Campers will develop self-confidence through team building games, skill building activities and social interaction.
  • This camp is sponsored by Operation: Military Kids.

4-H Adventure Camp

Dates: July 8-12
Ages: 8-12
Fee: $190

  • Create with Arts and Crafts: Explore your creative abilities and express yourself.
  • Have fun with Recreation: Large group games and sports will keep you involved with the other campers and have fun!
  • Refresh on the Waterfront: Refresh yourself by swimming, boating, and canoeing in a lake setting.
  • Explore Nature: Explore the many natural wonders in and around camp such as nature trails, animal tracks, birds, and trees. Nature may include hiking on uneven terrain or opportunities to go on a night hike with adult supervision.

Trail Riding Horse Camp

Dates: July 8-12
Ages: 8 and Up
Fee: $190

  • This camp will build your confidence and basic horsemanship skills.
  • Campers will work safely with their horse by learning techniques such as moving your horse out of your space, properly leading your horse, doing a one-rein stop, and crossing a bridge and other obstacles.
  • Campers must be able to care for the horse and ride at a trot/lope.
  • Take a trail ride around the 4-H camp along the Missouri River among the cottonwoods applying skills learned at camp.

Survivor Outdoor Recreation Camp II

Dates: July 15-19
Ages: 9 and Up
Fee: $190

  • This is another chance to experience "Survivor" challenges.
  • Tribes will compete to win "immunity" and camp privileges.
  • Challenges will include mud pit action, Tug of War, and "Rugged" outdoor challenge.
  • Team competitions in archery, canoeing, and other exciting events.
  • Teamwork, fun challenges, and new friendships will make lasting memories of camp.

Tech Wizards Camp

Dates: July 29-August 2
Ages: 11-18
Fee: $190

  • The future is now at 4-H Tech Wizards Camp! Build and program a robot with raw construction materials in the 14-hour Robot Challenge.
  • Film and edit a short movie for the Camp Film Fest.
  • Engage in a round of High Tech Hide-n-Seek with handheld GPS's.
  • Closed toe shoes required.

Discover Camp

Dates: August 2-4
Ages: 8 - 11
Fee: $190

  • Come explore what 4-H camp is all about!
  • Enjoy camp games, archery, swimming, and dances.
  • Meet new friends while participating in team tasks.
  • Be ready for hands-on activities that will help you discover 4-H.
  • This camp is for youth who are new or have limited camping experience.

*Registration for Discover Camp begins at 4 p.m. Thursday with dismissal at 3 p.m. Saturday"
