Early Bird Discounts: For May/June camps, register before May 20, 2014 to received the discount. For July/August camps, register before July 1, 2014 to receive the discount. 

Due to increasingly busy schedules we are offering 4-H Adventure camp 4 different times this year in hopes that if one date doesn't work for you another one is available.

                      Livestock Camp

Ages: 8 and up
Date: May 27 - May 31
Fee: $225             $200 (Early Bird)

Please indicate on the registration what species of animal you will bring. (You can bring your own livestock) Your youth will work with a variety of livestock.

  • Learn to groom, clip, and show a variety of livestock and make a rope halter to take home.
  • Test your knowledge of livestock with quiz bowl activities.
  • Due to the recent disease outbreak, swine will NOT be allowed at camp. No rabbits allowed.

Wish I Had a Horse Camp

Ages: 8 - 10
15 Camper Limit
Date: May 27 - May 31
Fee: $225             $200 (Early Bird)

This is a beginner camp for youth interested in horses. Hard-soled boots with less than a 1/8 inch tread are required for all horse camps.

  • Bring your parent or adult to help. One chaperone per three campers is required. Five horses will be provided.
  • Activities include learning to saddle, bridle, ride, lead and drive a horse.
  • Other activities include grooming demonstrations, contests, and a halter show.

4-H Adventure Camp: I

Ages: 8 to 12
Date: June 1-5
Fee: $225               $200 (Early Bird)

  • Have Fun With Recreation: Large-group games and sports will keep you involved with the other campers and having fun.
  • Create With Arts and Crafts: Explore your creative abilities and express yourself.
  • Explore Nature: Explore the many natural wonders in and around camp, such as nature trails, animal tracks, birds and trees. Spend time learning a few basic outdoor skills.
  • Engage in 4-H Activities: From shooting sports to healthy living, experience adventure and learn new life skills.

Horse Camp I

Ages: 8 and up
Date: June 1-5
Fee: $225               $200 (Early Bird)

This is for beginner to advanced youth and their horse. The purpose of Horse camp is to provide youth an opportunity to learn and better their horsemanship skills while enjoying the fellowship of other youth from across the state. You will need to bring a well-mannered, trained horse. An equestrian helmet and hard-soled boots with less than a 1/8 inch tread are required for all horse camps.

  • All horses must be well trained and comfortable in a group setting away from home. The camper must be able to provide basic care, saddle, bridle, and ride their horse with minimal assistance.
  • Riding level of the campers will be evaluated at the beginning of camp and split into beginner, intermediate and advanced groups.
  • Riding instruction will focus on improving the riders overall balance and control. Specific events taught at camp may include: Barrels, Poles, Goat Tying, Ranch Pleasure, Showmanship, Horsemanship, Trail, Reining, English Equitation, and/or Equitation Over Fences.
  • Horse knowledge such as safety, nutrition, vet science, and other useful horse care trivia will be incorporated into camp activities.

Family Fun Camp

Ages: 6 and older
Date: June 6-8
Fee: $300 (for a family of four; each additional family member is $75)              $275 (Early Bird)

This camp is for the whole family. Bring everyone to share camp activities they will enjoy together.

  • Choose to experience camp activities in creative arts, woodworking, outdoor skill activities, and food and nutrition.
  • Guided activities include nature walks, special kids' games and activities, and hands-on natural history programs.
  • Relish family time together in a beautiful outdoor setting while enjoying a beach luau, family talent night, and competing in the Amazing Family Race.
  • Primitive camp sites available for RV or tents. Contact the Center for 4-H Youth Development for more info.

Outdoor Skills Camp

Ages: 11 and up
Date: June 8-12
Fee: $225              $200 (Early Bird)

Youth will experience live-fire exercises in the shooting disciplines. Please note that youth will not be ND Hunter Ed. Certified this year.

  • Certified instructors will teach classes in shotgun, air rifle, 3-D archery, and black powder.
  • Treestand safety, fishing, hunting skill challenges and the 5th All Tough team challenge.
  • Outdoor skill projects, cook Dutch Oven grub and make jerky.

All Archery Camp

Ages: 10 and up
Date: June 8-12
Fee: $225               $200 (Early Bird)

This camp is for youth who have basic archery experience. Youth can bring their own equipment.

  • Experience in target recurve and bow hunter compound included.
  • Learn how to rig your bow, fletch an arrow, and select equipment.
  • Campers will participate in archery projects, 3-D, field-archery and other contest.
  • Archery obstacle course, hunting skills, treestand safety, and basic first aid.

Horse Camp II

Ages:8 and up

  • Create With Arts and Crafts: Explore your creative abilities and express yourself.
  • Have Fun With Recreation: Large-group games and sports will keep you involved with other campers and having fun. Campers will face challenges over the mud pit and chill while going down the huge new waterslide.
  • Explore Nature: Explore the many natural wonders around camp on our new nature trails. Animal tracks, birds and trees along the Missouri River provide a wonderful outdoor classroom.

Clover Camp

Ages: 6 to 8 (must be accompanied by a parent/guardian)
Date: June 20-21
Fee: $125 (for one adult and one child; each additional child is $50)           $115 (Early Bird)

  • This is a great first-time overnight camp experience.
  • Explore the outdoors and learn about birds and other wildlife.
  • Campers will participate in craft projects and lots of other fun activities.
  • Come see why kids have so much fun at camp!

4-H Adventure Camp: III

Ages: 8 to 12
Date: June 22-26
Fee: $225               $200 (Early Bird)

  • Have Fun With Recreation:Large group games will keep you involved with the other campers for lots of fun!
  • Create With Arts and Crafts: Explore your creative abilities and express yourself.
  • Explore Nature: Explore the many natural wonders around camp, such on our new nature trails. Animal tracks, birds and trees along the Missouri River provide a wonderful classroom.
  • Engage in 4-H Activities: Experience what it's like to be a 4-H'er! From shooting sports to engineering and healthy living, experience adventure and learn new life skills.

Transportation is available for this camp for an added fee.

Survivor Outdoor Recreation Camp

Ages:10-14
Date: July 6-10
Fee: $225              $200 (Early Bird)

  • Enjoy North Dakota 4-H Camp's 9th annual rendition of the Survivor Game.
  • Campers will compete to win team "challenges,"for the coveted immunity idol including mud pit action, a water obstacle course, after-dark challenges and many more action-packed events.
  • Nightly tribal council ceremonies will result in rewards and loss of privileges.
  • Team building, leadership and self-confidence will be the ultimate outcome for campers.

4-H Adventure Camp: IV

Ages: 8 to 12
Date: July 6-10
Fee: $225                  $200 (Early Bird)

  • Have Fun with Recreation: Large-group games and sports will keep you involved with the other campers and having fun.
  • Create with Arts and Crafts: Explore your creative abilities and express yourself.
  • Explore Nature: Explore the many natural wonders in and around camp on our new nature trails. Animal tracks, birds and trees along the Missouri River provide a wonderful outdoor classroom.
  • Engage in 4-H Activities: Experience what it's like to be a 4-H'er! From shooting sports to engineering and healthy living, experience adventure and learn new life skills.

Discover Camp

Ages: 8 to 11
Date: July 13-15
Fee: $175                 $150 (Early Bird)

This camp is for youth who are new or have limited camping experience.

  • Come meet new friends and explore what 4-H camp is all about!
  • Explore your interests in fiber arts, healthy living, outdoor skills, science and other life-long skill areas.
  • Participate in large group activities and games, fun hands-on activities and craft projects.

Great Outdoors Camp

Ages: 8 to 11
Date: July 13-15
Fee: $175                   $150 (Early Bird)

Here's your chance to learn basic outdoor skills while having fun with nature.

  • Introduction to insect, plant and animal identification.
  • Learn to tie survival knots, basic first aid and outdoor navigation.
  • Complete survival projects, outdoor crafts, and participate in archery and air rifle.
  • Enjoy evening camp fires, play games, dance, and make new friends.

Military Youth Camp I

Ages:8 to 11
Date: July 127-31
Fee: $225        $200 (Early Bird)(Youth are responsible for paying $70 for Early Bird or $90 for regular, remainder is funded through a Department of Defense Deployment Support Camp Grant)

This camp is sponsored by Operation: Military Kids and is intended only for youth who are members of military families.

  • Youth will grow in areas such as self-confidence, problem solving, and stress management.
  • Campers will form lifelong bonds with other military youth.
  • Deployment support resiliency curriculum will be intertwined with traditional camp activities.

Campers will develop leadership, cooperation and communication skills through team building activities such as friendly competitions, water fun, mud pit action and much more.

Military Youth Camp II

Ages: 12 to 15
Date: July 27-31
