Student Support Services

There are several counseling and specialized professional services available to students enrolled at North Dakota State University. Some of these services are listed below.

Office of International Programs
This office provides advising and support services for prospective and enrolled international students. The office processes applications for admission for undergraduate students.

For new students, the Office of International Programs makes arrangements for airport pickup, offers assistance with finding off-campus housing after arrival, and provides an orientation.

During their stay at North Dakota State University, international students can seek advice from the international student advisers at the Office of International Programs on matters such as immigration requirements, adjusting to life in the United States, tax requirements, health issues, and personal and academic problems. The office also publishes a newsletter to keep international students informed of regulations and activities.

The Office of International Programs coordinates a number of activities for international students attending North Dakota State University. For example, the office administers a Student Speakers' Fair in the local schools, which gives international students an opportunity to talk about their cultures with school children. The International Friendship Program matches students with local families to share meals, special events, and companionship. Numerous other activities are offered to students each year.

Career Center
The Career Center is a comprehensive resource center that assists students with their job searches and connects them with employers. The center works with Cooperative Education, a program that offers career-related, paid work experiences for academic credit. The center also offers job search development advising such as resume writing and interview techniques.

Counseling and Disability Services
The services of professional staff are available free of charge to assist with educational, vocational, and personal concerns.

Student Health Service

The Student Health Service is a primary health care facility offering integrated professional services to NDSU students with a physician and staff located at the Wellness Center. Medical laboratory and pharmacy services also are available.

Wellness Center
The Wellness Center promotes and devlops healthy lifestyle opportunities for students through wellness education, quality student health services and state-of-the-art fitness programs.
