The NDSU Student Engineering Branch of ASABE is a professional/technical organization open to all students enrolled in Departments of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. Early membership is encouraged since this is a national affiliation that the student will undoubtedly want to continue as a member upon graduation. Most faculty are active members of ASABE.
There are two branches of ASABE for students. The Student Mechanization Branch (Agricultural Systems Management Club) is for all students enrolled in the Agricultural Systems Management program. The Student Engineering Branch is for all students enrolled in the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering program.
Some of the advantages of being a member in your respective student branch are:
- Opportunities to know other students and faculty
- Technical information exchange
- Involvement in a professional organization
- Opportunities to meet alumni and to learn about their careers
- Opportunities to develop leadership skills
- Interaction with professionals in industry and government
- Opportunities to compete with other students and faculty in contests
- Opportunities to attend sectional, regional, and national professional meetings
