INSTRUCTIONAL TCCs (511 - 519) This category is used primarily by instructional departments when those departments purchase books, publications, periodicals, or reference materials directly for their own use. Also included are consumable supplies utilized in a teaching environment. In addition, this category is used for Library expenditures in acquiring permanent library holdings.
Book binding - (TCC 511) - used for expenses incurred in binding or rebinding books, periodicals, publications, and other instructional material.
Books - (TCC 512) - used for the purchase of books by the Library, or other departments when the books are not for general office usage.
Publications - (TCC 513) - used for the purchase of a series of published material from an organization or society. Usually, deposit accounts are required to be maintained. Also, used for costs incurred in the publication of an article and reprint of such article.
Periodicals - (TCC 514) - used when paying for subscriptions to newspapers, magazines, journals, yearbooks, indexes, and cumulative series. These expenditures often require prepayments. TCC 466 should be used only if the purchase is for the general administrative function of the office.
Reference materials - (TCC 515) - the Library uses this TCC for online database searching, including the cost of various databases and annual subscription fee which pays for the operating manuals and also authorizes our access to the various databases. This may include materials from the proceedings of a conference.
Instructional supplies - (TCC 516) - Used for the purchase of supplies that are used in departments primarily in a teaching role.
AV & Microfilm - (TCC 517) - used for the purchase of microfilm, microfiche, cassettes, records/albums, and slide duplication.
Film Rental - (TCC 518) - used for rental of films and videotapes.
Film Purchases - (TCC 519) - used for purchasing films and videotapes. This can also be used for developing films from cameras. |
