CAPTAIN RUSSELL C. GARDNER:: OPERATION FLIGHT COMMANDER
Capt Russell C. Gardner is the Operations Flight Commander, and an Air Education and Training Command Master Instructor assigned to AFROTC Detachment 610 at the University of North Dakota.Capt Gardner received his commission from the United States Air Force Officer Training School in April 2005. Capt Gardner’s first duty assignment was the 5th Bomb Wing, 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Minot AFB ND, where he served as the Vehicle Maintenance Officer, Installation Deployment Officer, and Fuels Management Flight Commander. As the Vehicle Maintenance Officer his flight garnered the 2005 ACC Vehicle Management Flightof the year. After his indeterminate temporary duty assignment as the Brigade Mentor for the First Brigade, 201 Corps, Afghanistan National Army, Kabul Afghanistan he was selected for staff duty at Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale AFB LA., where he served as the Deputy Chief, Plans and Integration Branch. Capt Gardner was the Deputy Chief, of the Supply Chain Management Branch, Logistics Readiness Division, Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, LA. Capt Gardner oversaw material management policy and procedures for six supply accounts valued at over 2.5 billion dollars and developing Nuclear Weapons Related Material policy to re-invigorate the Air Force’s nuclear enterprise. Additionally, he was the command’s inspection team leader for the Logistics Readiness Squadron, Logistics Compliance Assessment Program. His operational experience includes Operations RESTORE HOPE, DENY FLIGHT, SOUTHERN WATCH, BRILLANT QUEST, PURPLE STAR, NOBLE EAGLE and ENDURING FREEDOM where he accrued over 120 combat support sorties and 175 mounted combat patrols. |
