President's Council on Alcohol & Other Drugs
The President’s Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs (PCAOD) was appointed in the fall of 2007 and is comprised of individuals representing faculty, staff, and students at NDSU. The Council is not seeking to eliminate the use of alcohol, but rather to significantly reduce the high-risk use that leads to problems for individuals and the community.
The council was charged with creating a strategic plan to address alcohol and other drug abuse on campus that included accountability at all levels, was far reaching in its scope, included measurable outcomes and reflected the core values of the University. This plan was carried out from 2009-2012 and a final report incorporating both qualitative and quantitative evidence of progress toward the goals of the strategic plan was released in the spring of 2013. Following the final report, additional and ongoing goals and activities were identified based on available data and evidence-based strategies.
A strategic plan for 2013-2018 has been developed and implementation will begin in the fall of 2013.
