NDSU Personnel Workshop: Tuesday 4, March

We invite you to participate in a workshop on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in the Prairie Room of the Memorial Union at NDSU.

During the May 17, 2007 NDSU BioOpportunities Workshop, we developed a list of opportunities related to the bio-industry, tasks required to seize those opportunities, and related challenges. We also gathered industry, agency and association or group input related to the topic areas of starch based energy and products, oil based energy and products, cellulose based energy and products, and high value / bioproducts / hydrogen. The information from each of the groups is on the Bio EPIC website under the BioOpportunities navigation link.

The purpose of the discussions on March 4th is to evaluate how things have changed and develop an updated plan detailing NDSU’s role and tasks in assisting North Dakota seize these opportunities. What needed research and education can we provide? How can we interact with industry? What funding opportunities exist?

Only one topic area will meet at a time to enable people interested in each of these areas to have an opportunity to participate. Following is the agenda for the day:

8:30 – 10:00     Oil Based Energy and Products
10:00 – 10:30   Break
10:30 - 12:00    Starch Based Energy and Products
12:00 – 1:00      Lunch Break (on your own)
1:00 – 2:30        Cellulose Energy and Products
2:30 – 3:00        Break
