Types of Aid

There are three types of financial aid that you may apply for at NDSU.  There are Federal and State Grants, which do not have to be repaid.  There are loans, which are broken into two categories: Federal Loans and Alternative Loans. Both loan types have to be repaid, but you do have control over who lends you the money.  Finally, there are Scholarships.  Some are renewable, others are one-time payments, but none of them have to be repaid.

NDSU Student Financial Services and its staff do not endorse or accept any incentives, financial or otherwise, from the lenders listed on our lender list.  Lender information is provided as a courtesy and in no way should it be interpreted as a requirement to use one of the listed lenders.  NDSU will process loans from any lender that participates in any educational loan programs.
