Choosing the Right Appeal Process
NDSU upholds all institutional and federal policies in its effort to provide fair and consistent practices to all students. However there are instances when a student may find it necessary to request exception to one or more policies as a result of extenuating circumstances that are beyond a student's control. As a result, NDSU has established various appeal processes which address academic related matters, tuition and fees, and financial aid.

Changes to Enrollment Status
Appeal Missed Deadline > Use this form when grades for the courses/term being appealed have not been posted.
Appeal Exception to Academic Regulations > Use this form when grades for the courses/term being appealed have been posted.
Requesting an Adjustment to Charges
If you are appealing charges for a course in which you are still enrolled, including having received an Incomplete ("I") or Failing ("F") grade, you must have the grade changed to a Withdrawal ("W") before an adjustment to charges can be processed. Submit the appropriate appeal to the Registration and Records Office to request the change.
Use the Appeal of NDSU Tuition and Fees for tuition, differential tuition, student fees, course fees, class fees, program fees, new student fees and/or late payment fees.
- For adjustments on all other charges, including meal plans, housing, rent, rent late fees, international health insurance, student health charges, bookstore charges, and parking permits contact the department issuing the charge.
