NDSU COMPASS Placement Test

Students who believe that their abilities exceed their placement into entry level Math or English courses based on their ACT (or SAT) sub-test scores may demonstrate their ability by taking either (or both) the NDSU COMPASS Algebra Math test or NDSU COMPASS English test. If a student does not have an ACT (or SAT) score or prior college credit, they must either take a COMPASS test or begin in MATH 102 for Mathematics and ASC 087 for English. NDSU COMPASS tests must be taken for placement into higher level courses.

The cost of the COMPASS test is $10 and will be billed to the student’s account at the time that they take the test. Sample test questions and test-taking tips can be found at http://www.act.org/compass/student/index.html
