Official Transcript Request & Ordering Instructions

NDSU has authorized the National Student Clearinghouse to provide its online transcript ordering service. This service provides students with timely notices regarding their transcript request as well as order status history. Individuals who have both a major credit card and a valid email address should request an official transcript through this service. Credit cards will be charged only after orders have been completed. While NDSU has charged for special orders in the past, delivery options and fees have been standardized for consistency and efficiency in online ordering.

For more information on how to Obtain an Unofficial Transcript, see instructions on the Campus Connection Help page.

General Ordering Information

  • A transcript cannot be issued if a Customer Account Services hold (account balance) has been placed on an account.

  • The NDSU transcript details only academic work completed at NDSU. Transcript requests of academic coursework completed at other institutions must be directed to the respective institutions.

  • Faxed transcripts are often not considered official by higher education institutions, employers, etc. Please verify type of transcript needed with intended recipient before requesting a copy to be faxed.

  • Any paperwork that needs to accompany an official transcript can be faxed (701-231-8959) or mailed to the Office of Registration and Records, NDSU Dept. 5210, P.O. Box 6050, Fargo, ND 58108-6050. When ordering through the National Student Clearinghouse, individuals can indicate that paperwork will be forthcoming in the "Special Instructions" box.

  • NDSU does not issue Official Transcripts directly to Students. An "Issued To Student" transcript will be provided in a sealed envelope, which may be considered official if received unopened. If a sealed transcript is desired, please indicate this request in the "Special Instructions" box.

  • Current and former students with online Campus Connection access may view and print an unofficial transcript free of charge through Campus Connection (Academic Records > View Unofficial Transcript).

    Note:
Unofficial transcripts are only available online for students who were enrolled at NDSU Fall 2002 or later (complete records should be available, including most terms prior to Fall 2002).

  • Former NDSU-Bottineau students should contact Dakota College at Bottineau directly with transcript orders.
