Professor Macintosh teaches Principles of Marketing, Sales Management, Industrial Marketing, and Consumer Behavior and works with Executive Education. His areas of research are interpersonal relationships in marketing, relationship marketing, decision making in selling, and the effects of knowledge and expertise on sales performance. Professor Macintosh received the Excellence in Research Award. He has also been awarded the Apple Polisher Award from Bison Ambassadors. In 1999, he received the College of Business Service Award. Professor Macintosh receive the Excellence in Research Award in 2001.
