Merrill Johnson, retired 3M executive, has served in a variety of executive and vice president roles throughout his 36 years with the company. He has lived in Bangkok, Manila, Brussels, the Middle East – where he served as regional V.P. for all products, and as vice president and president of 3M National Advertising Co., in Washington, D.C. He began his career at International Harvester Motor Truck Division and served eight years in the Corp of Engineers Reserve with a rank of captain.
Mr. Johnson, a native of Osnabrock, ND, received his Agriculture Engineering degree from NDSU in 1956. His wife of 51 years, Dody, is also a NDSU graduate. During college he was AGR vice Noble ruler, chair. Of Ag engineering council, a member of Blue Key, Homecoming Parade Marshall, ROTC, and member of Who's Who on American campuses. Since retirement he spends his winter months in Scottsdale and the summer months in Hudson, Wisc.
