MBA Poster Sessions and Presentations: BUSN 789 - Strategic Management
Developing “institutional stewardship” is a key dimension in the MBA Program learning goals. The fundamental concept is that for ultimate and sustainable success, leaders should take a long term view, consider broader social implications of strategic decisions, and protect and leverage core institutional values all while striving for competitive advantage.
BUSN 789 - Strategic Management student teams developed ideas for practicing various forms of institutional stewardship in a specific organizational context. The ideas were presented in an interactive poster session where posters visually highlighted main idea components that team members could explain to interested passers-by in the Barry Atrium poster session. Topics included “Examination of Core Values at Penn State”, “Institutional Stewardship and the ND Oil Industry”, “Growing our Company and Strengthening the Community at Jack Chivers Realty”, “Wal-Mart’s Social Responsibility Initiatives for Sustainability and Competitive Advantage”, and related applications for the Great Plains Food Bank, Crary Industries, Better Place, and the Fargo Theatre.
