What is the Career Expo, and what students attend?
The Career Expo is a two day event. Day one is geared toward students majoring in business, agriculture and liberal arts disciplines. Day two is geared toward students majoring in engineering and technology disciplines.
The Career Expo provides an excellent opportunity to connect with students to discuss or interview for current and/or future career-related employment and co-op/internship opportunities. Last year 164 employers and 1254 students and alumni attended this event.
NDSU alumni are invited to attend this event and we also invite students from several area four-year universities. The Fair is not open to the general public.
NOTE: This event is only for bona fide employers of college interns and grads. Anyone wanting to participate for the sole purpose of promoting anything except jobs may not attend. *** Third Party Recruiters may not attend this event ***
When and How do I receive information about the Career Expo?
Registration for the Career Expo will begin in mid-November.
You will automatically receive registration information for the Career Expo if you are registered with the NDSU Career Center using CAREERlink. If you are not sure you are registered, please contact our recruiting team at 701-231-8464.
How do I register for the Career Expo?
Registration for the Career Expo will begin in mid-November.
Registration deadline is February 12, 2013 for both days.
If wanting to register after the deadline, call 701-231-6290 to see if space is available. Please note registration fee doubles after the deadline. No exceptions.
NOTE: This event is only for bona fide employers of college interns and grads. Anyone wanting to participate for the sole purpose of promoting anything but jobs may not attend. ***Third Party Recruiters may not attend his event ***
What is the registration fee, and what does it include?
Day 1 – Business, Agriculture & Liberal Arts
$375 registration fee includes:
- 10x10 booth space and one eight-foot table (booth must be manned at all times)
- registration for up to two representatives ($15 for each additional rep)
- 2 chairs
- tablecloth (limited supply available - first-come/first-served)
- electrical power
- wireless internet access
- lunch/refreshments
Day 2 – Engineering & Technology
$375 registration fee includes:
- 10x10 booth space and one eight-foot table (booth must be manned at all times)

- morning snacks/refreshments
- lunch/refreshments

$700 registration fee includes:
- all of the items listed above for each day
The registration fee must be paid by the February 19, 2013 to ensure your spot at the Expo.
How can I pay for the registration fee?
The registration fee may be paid by check or credit card and must be received by February 19, 2013 to avoid a $50 late fee.

MasterCard, VISA, and Discover credit cards can be used to pay the registration fee. Spring Career Fair Credit Card Payment Form
SPECIAL NOTE: If the registration fee has not been paid in full by the start of the event, the company representative checking-in will be required to fill out a Credit Card Authorization Form. This form states that the NDSU Career Center is authorized to charge the credit card for the registration fee if it is not paid in full within 7 days.
What is the cancellation/refund policy?
Career Expo: Cancellation notification is appreciated so we may inform students. Refund of the registration fee (minus $50 administrative fee) will be given for cancellations received by Tuesday, February 12, 2013. There is no refund of the registration fee for cancellations after February 12, 2013.
What is an Employer Networking Session?
Networking Sessions are an informal introduction to your company that will allow recruiters to network with students and familiarize them with available positions. Employers are given a 25-minute presentation time-slot, there are limited slots available and are given on a first request basis. The Networking Sessions will be held in the NDSU Alumni Center.
- Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm (recommended for Day 1 employers)
- Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm (recommended for Day 2 employers)
What are the advertising options?
Electronic + Newspaper Ad ($200): Electronic ads will be displayed on the Fargodome's four jumbo display screens during the Career Expo. The ad will also be displayed on the Career Expo webpage. The logo will also be included in the newspaper with the Career Expo ad.
- May include a logo and short statement. If interested, select this option during registration
- The specs for the ad are as follows:
- A print quality jpg, gif, or eps graphic file
- Resolution should be 256 pixels x 250 pixels and 200 dpi
Newspaper Ad ($50): Logo will be printed in the newspaper with the Career Expo ad
Deadline for purchasing an ad is Friday, February 1, 2013 at 4 p.m.

Where do I ship displays and materials for the Spring Career Fair?
There will be a $25 fee (payable to The UPS Store) for delivery of display/materials to the Fargodome.
- REQUIRED: Contact Jeff, The UPS Store at 701-235-9505 to arrange payment and receive shipping address. The Career Center will coordinate the delivery of items to the Fargodome.
- UNPAID SHIPMENTS WILL BE REFUSED BY THE UPS STORE AND NOT DELIVERED TO THE FARGODOME
- Displays may be shipped to the UPS Store up to one week in advance of the event
- NOTE: ***Any item shipped to the NDSU Career Center and/or the Fargodome will be REFUSED***

Where can I unload my vehicle for the Career Expo?
- Unloading and parking will take place at the NORTH end of the Fargodome
- You may drive your vehicle into the loading dock entrance and drive down on the Fargodome floor
- Students will be available to assist in the unloading/loading process
- Parking is FREE; no permit required
Who should I contact to set up interviews after the Career Expo?
- Interviews After Day 1 (Business, Agriculture & Liberal Arts): Interviews after day 1 will be conducted on the upper level of the Fargodome
- Interviews After Day 2 (Engineering & Technology): Interviews after day 2 will be conducted in the NDSU Memorial Union Ballroom
