What is your First Impression?

  • Not a good impression if the venue is an opportunity to meet a potential employer because it shows you're not trying very hard
  • Good everyday outfit, but would want to see adding a suit and tie for a career fair or interview
  • The untucked shirt is unprofessional; Goes too far beyond "casual"
  • Too casual
  • Fine for a very casual weekend
  • Sloppy

Is this appropriate for a Career Fair?

  • At a minimum, would tuck in the shirt and wear leather shoes if you have them; If you can afford business casual pants vs jeans, would strongly advise that as you'll be compared against more sharply dressed candidates - You are making yourself more work to get past the over-relaxed attire and make yourself credible
  • Sloppy, not appropriate for career fair
  • Would want to see adding a suit and tie for a career fair
  • Too casual

  • Wouldn’t necessarily seem interested in what positions were open

  • Torn knee, tennis shoes and shirt not tucked in make it inappropriate

  • Underdressed

Is this appropriate for an Interview?

  • Sloppy, not appropriate for interview
  • Add a suit and tie for an interview

  • Not appropriate, too casual

  • Totally inappropriate

  • Never a good choice

  • Find a way to purchase at least one "interviewing" outfit or borrow something from a friend/family member if possible
