Research Interests

  • Environmental Applications of Nanomaterials
  • Environmental Implications of Nanomaterials
  • Polymer Applications in Environmental Remediation
  • Nutrient Recovery and Delivery
  • Life-cycle Assessment
  • Contaminant Fate and Transport
  • Small Community Water and Wastewater Treatment
Bezbaruah leads the Nanoenvirology Research Group (NRG) at North Dakota State University. The group’s research focuses on life-cycle studies of nanomaterials starting from the novel synthesis to disposal of nanomaterials. Development of stable dispersion of nanomaterials using synthetic and plant-based graft copolymers for groundwater remediation has been a major emphasis of the group’s research. The group has four patents/ pending patents from their research. Bezbaruah also leads a major interdisciplinary research on impacts of nanomaterials on ecosystem components specifically on plants and microorganisms and societal perception on nanotechnology.
