The student chapter of ASCE at NDSU is involved in several organizational activities, including both the;
Steel Bridge Competition (6 time National Champions)- 1995 @ the University of Florida
- 2002 @ the University of Wisconsin, Madison
- 2004 @ Colorado School of Mines
- 2006 @ the University of Utah
- 2007 @ California State University, Northridge
- 2010 @ Purdue University
These activies are in addition to the monthly meeting at which an industry professional gives a lecture on a current topic, and their annual community boyscout badge day held every fall.

The Society of Women Engineers is a great way to get involved in activities and to be a part of an eventful group. A couple of our activities would include:
- Engineering Extravaganza
- Expanding Your Horizons
- Tech GYRLS
- Conference Regionals and Nationals
In addition to these activities, we carry out meetings every month and have professional speakers at the meetings. We host a social in the fall to network with professional companies and have a banquet in the spring.

The student chapter of AWWA/WEF is a collaboration of students interested in the Water Resources and Environmental side of Civil Engineering. The organization is comprised of monthly meetings with professional speakers. Student members also take part in the student design competition, WEFTEC. WEFTEC Design competition- 2005-3rd place

- 2010-runner’s up
In addition, the students also take part in volunteer work including Expanding your Horizons, World Water Quality Monitoring Day, and much more.
During the summers, the Annual Joint Student Conference is held between NDSU, University of Manitoba, and SDSU where students get together to present on their research topics and learn about environmental/water related concerns. This summer, NDSU with hold the conference on June 2-4!
