Language Proficiency Test

The Center for Writers administers the Language Proficiency Test (LPT) for graduate students who need to meet NDSU English language proficiency standards.

The LPT is given upon request during both fall and spring semesters at no charge. Students are allowed one hour to write a typed or hand-written essay on an assigned topic (computers are provided within the Center for Writers). The essays are reviewed by two graders, and students are notified within two weeks of their scores. Scores of 5 or 6 on a 6-point scale are required to pass the exam.

For more information or to schedule a test date, contact Mary Pull by telephone (231-7928) or by email <mary.pull@ndsu.edu>.
