Faculty Position:
The North Dakota State University Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology is accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty position available Fall 2010 in the broadly defined area of theoretical or computational chemistry/biochemistry. Appointment at the assistant professor rank is anticipated, but exceptional candidates may be considered for a more senior rank. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry or a related field, strong potential to develop an externally funded, nationally competitive research program, demonstrated commitment to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and strong oral and written communication skills. Postdoctoral Opening in Organic Chemistry
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in organic chemistry. Salary/Starting date negotiable; January 2010 preferred. This individual will be involved in the synthesis and characterization of conjugated polymers that will be utilized in organic photovoltaic devices. The research program combines organic synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, device fabrication and computational studies. The research will provide ample opportunity to learn about and expand into new research areas beyond synthesis. Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in chemistry; Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work well as a member of a research team.
