Open Postdoctoral Fellow Position Professor Wenfang Sun’s Group:
A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately in Professor Wenfang Sun’s group (Click here for Dr. Sun's Webpage) at the Department of Chemistry and Molecular Biology, North Dakota State University. A Ph.D. in organic chemistry or photochemistry, and extensive experience in organic/organometallic compounds synthesis and characterization, as well as photophysical study (UV-Vis, photoluminescence, transient absorption, etc.) is required. Experience with laser spectroscopic techniques (degenerate four wave mixing and Z-scan) will be a plus. Interested candidates should e-mail a CV and the names and contact information of three references to: Wenfang.Sun@ndsu.edu.
In order to ensure full consideration, applications should be received by February 28, 2010.
Postdoctoral Opening in Organic Chemistry
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in organic chemistry. Salary/Starting date negotiable; January 2010 preferred. This individual will be involved in the synthesis and characterization of conjugated polymers that will be utilized in organic photovoltaic devices. The research program combines organic synthesis, spectroscopic characterization, device fabrication and computational studies. The research will provide ample opportunity to learn about and expand into new research areas beyond synthesis. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Candidates must submit a cover letter and a CV. Be sure to include a list of publications, along with contact information of three references (in pdf format) to: Erkan Kose at muhammet.kose@ndsu.edu.
Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in chemistry; Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work well as a member of a research team.
Preferred qualifications: A strong background in synthetic organic chemistry with a focus on conjugated polymer synthesis. Experience with a variety of spectroscopic techniques is also beneficial.
