  • DeAnn Wagenman, BS ’07, accounting, joined Noridian Mutual Insurance Co., a licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, as manager of its internal audit department. She previously worked as an audit manager at Widmer Roel, a public accounting firm in Fargo. August 2014
  • Jason D. Peterson, BS ’00, MS ’08, computer science, joined regional certified public accounting and business advisory firm Eide Bailly as an application development senior associate.  August 2014
  • Jason Mutzenberger, BACC ’02, accountancy, was hired as Eden Prairie, Minnesota, public schools’ executive director of business services. He previously was director of business services for the district in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. August 2014
  • Elizabeth Dewald, BAcc ’07, accountancy, was promoted to director of financial planning and analysis for RDO Equipment Co. in Fargo. August 2014
  • Travis Lium, BAcc ’05, accountancy, BS ’06, business administration, is a tax administrator for Payroll Professionals Inc. of Fargo. August 2014
  • Brian Kalk, MS ’01, environmental engineering, PhD ’07, natural resources management, was appointed to the National Coal Council. He is chair of the North Dakota Public Service commission. August 2014
  • Ryan Moen, BS ’04, computer science, joined Western State Bank in West Fargo, North Dakota, as director of information technology. He previously was a software development engineer at Microsoft, Fargo. July 2014
  • Gwen McCausland, BS ’01, sociology, was named director of the South Dakota State Agricultural Heritage Museum in Brookings, South Dakota. She previously was marketing coordinator and exhibit designer for the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County in Moorhead, Minnesota. July 2014
  • Andrew Gress, BS ’04, history, was appointed academic dean of the Des Moines, Iowa, campus of Kaplan University. He serves as the chief academic officer to the campus, managing academic administrative operations as well as faculty and academic support services. He lives in Clive, Iowa. July 2014
  • Amanda (Thieschafer) Smock, BS ’05, human performance and fitness, won her third outdoor national title in the triple jump during the U.S. Outdoor Championships in Sacramento, California. Earlier this year, she won her third consecutive indoor title in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a 2012 London Olympian. June 2014
