Competition Dates


 Kick-off day: September 21st - NDSU, Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse (10:30AM to 3:30PM)

At the Kick-Off day event the playing field is unveiled, game rules are presented, and kits are distributed. In addition, a series of educational breakout sessions are held. All teams are required to have a representative present at kick-off. It is not necessary to bring your entire team, however, it is recommended to bring as many team members as possible.

All teams participating in Bison BEST must register using the eventbrite system for online registration. This is a much simpler system than the one used in the past. Click here for the step by step instructions of how to register your team. Please complete this prior to coming to the Kick-Off Day.


Mall Day: October 26th - West Acres Shopping Center (10:00AM to 4:00PM)

At the Mall Day event, teams are given an opportunity to practice with their robot on the playing field. In addition, robots can go through a pre-compliance check in preparation for game day. Participation in Mall Day is optional, but highly encouraged.

Game Day: November 1st & 2nd - NDSU Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse

On Friday judging takes place on the team exhibits, marketing presentations, and project engineering notebooks. There will also be time for practice driving and robot compliance check. Friday activities typically run from 8:00AM to 8:00PM.
On Saturday, the robotics matches are held. Saturday activities typically run from 7:00AM to 5:00PM.
