Which Spring Ceremony do I
attend?
The NDSU Commencement ceremonies will be available online via
live streaming video through the GoBison.com web site. Click the link
below to proceed, or view the provided instructions and additional
information for viewing the commencement ceremonies.
There will be NO CHARGE for users
to view the video. The link to view the video is meant to work
without requiring the user to register or sign up for access. (User
registration is only required for viewing athletic events.)
Video Availability
- The live, online video start time for the Friday, May
15, Graduate/Professional Commencement will be
3:40 p.m. (ceremony begins at 4:00 p.m. Central
time)
- The live, online video start time for the Saturday,
May 16, Undergraduate Commencement will be 9:40
a.m. (ceremony begins at 10:00 a.m. Central time)
- The video of each ceremony will be archived and made
available for viewing during the following week (May 18-22) and
will be available for viewing for 30 days
- A DVD copy of each ceremony will also be available for
purchase ($20) and can be ordered by completing the Commencement DVD
Order Form
Viewing the Live Video
- Live video is only available during the day of
the ceremony
- The link to the video will be available on the "Live
Events" page of the GoBison.com web site (under
"Multimedia" in the left navigation menu)
- Once on the "Live Events" page, click on the
<Event has Started> or
<Play> link for the ceremony from the
listing of available events
- The live video stream will become active approximately 20
minutes prior to the start time of each ceremony
- The video content will be provided by the Fargodome and will
use the same video feed that is displayed on the arena video
boards during the ceremony
- A portion of the video screen will include a sign language
interpreter to assist the hearing impaired
- The video can be expanded to full-screen view by either
double-clicking on the video itself or by clicking the
full-screen control on the media player toolbar, press the
[Esc] key to exit full-screen view
Viewing the Archived Video
- Archived video will be made available during the
following week and will remain available online for approximately
one month
- Start by visiting the "All
Access" page of the GoBison.com web site (under
"Multimedia" in the left navigation menu)
- Once on the "All
Access" page, click on the graphic that says "CLICK
TO PLAY SAMPLE VIDEO" (bottom of center column) to
launch the video player
- The video player will start by playing an advertisement and
then will start playing a test video of an NDSU football
game
- An additional advertisement will be displayed in the right
side panel of the player, click the "Close [X]"
symbol to remove the ad and display the playlist menu beneath it
(this ad may disappear automatically after 30 seconds)
- Select the "ON DEMAND" tab on the playlist
menu
- Scroll down the playlist menu and click on one of the
Commencement ceremonies to play the video
- The video can be expanded to full-screen view by either
double-clicking on the video itself or by clicking the
full-screen control on the media player toolbar, press the
[Esc] key to exit full-screen view
Technical Requirements
Viewing the online video will require that specific software is
installed on your computer. In most cases, the required software is
already installed on your computer or will automatically alert you
of an available download when attempting to launch the video
content. Below are links to the software required to view the video
content:
- Internet Explorer browser
(PC/Windows) - Using this browser is strongly recommended for
PC users
- Mozilla Firefox browser
- Windows Media
Player
- Macromedia Flash Player
- NOTE: Video is best viewed using a
broadband, high-speed Internet service. Dial-up users may
experience difficulties during playback.
- NOTE: The video player opens in a new pop-up
window. This may require selectively disabling any active pop-up
blocking settings or software.
- NOTE: Internet cookies may also be required
to access the video content. Clearing Internet cookies or
disabling cookie-blocking software may be necessary.
