I joined the NDSU Department of Communication in January 2012, shortly after completing my M.A. in communication at the University of Wyoming in 2011. Prior to graduate school, I spent five years working as a professional journalist, including four years as the high school sports coordinator at the Casper (Wyo.) Star-Tribune; I also worked at the Idaho Falls (Idaho) Post Register and the Gillette (Wyo.) News-Record. I earned my B.S. in journalism from the University of Wyoming in 2004.
As the department’s professor of practice, I focus on teaching and service. I teach undergraduate media writing courses, advise the NDSU student chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and fulfill the department’s role as faculty representative on the Board of Student Publications.
This fall and this spring, I am teaching COMM 200: Intro to Media Writing and COMM 310: Advanced Media Writing.
