Master's Students

Dana Anderson

Dana is a part-time student in the master's program. Her areas of interest include organizational communication and persuasion. She works full-time in the College Relations and Marketing Department at North Dakota State College of Science.

Chris Carlson

Chris is a part-time student in the master's program. He studies deception detection and how advertisers acknowledge then counteract public skepticism.

Ramya Chandrasekaran

Ramya is a second year master's student. Her areas of interest include mass communication and rhetoric.

Keith Dickhudt

Keith is a master's student and graduate teaching assistant. His research interests include health and crisis communication. He currently teaches Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110).

Ashley M. Fandrich

Ashley is a second year master's student. Her research interests include interpersonal communication, health communication, public relations, and social media. She is currently teaching Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110).

Laura C. Farrell

Laura is a master's student and graduate teaching assistant. Her interests are in speech communication, small group communication, mass communication studies and rhetoric. Her research focuses on small group interactions, mass media and public speaking, rhetoric, and the influence of television on society. Laura is currently teaching two sections of Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110).

Jared Fougner

Jared is a first year master's student and graduate teaching assistant. His areas of interest are organizational communication and interpersonal communication. He is currently teaching Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110).

Whitney Frahm

Whitney is a master's student and graduate teaching assistant. Her research interests include interpersonal, health, and small group communication. She currently teaches Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110) and Media Writing (COMM 200).

Dennis Frohlich

Dennis is a first year master's student and graduate teaching assistant. His research interests include health education and new media. He is currently teaching Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110).

Jeremy Groce

Jeremy is a master's student, graduate teaching assistant, and internship coordinator for the Department of Communication. His research interests range from mass media to interpersonal. Jeremy has several years of radio and television reporting experience and most recently spent six years in Africa managing an all-news and information shortwave radio service for Sudan.

Kathryn Hedberg

Katie is a master's student and graduate teaching assistant. Her areas of expertise are mass media and public relations. Her research focuses on health communication and its relationship to interpersonal communication and mass media as well as mass media's role in the decision making practices and everyday lives of individuals. Her teaching experience includes media writing, public relations and public speaking.

Alicia Johns

Alicia is a first year master's student and graduate teaching assistant. Her areas of interest include public relations, social and mass media, interpersonal communication, and crisis communication. She is currently teaching Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110).

Dan Kalis

Dan is a first year master's student and a graduate teaching assistant. His research interests include mass communication, rhetoric, and interpersonal communication. He is currently teaching two sections of Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110).

Chris Mattix

Chris is a master's student and graduate teaching assistant. His areas of interest include new media, interpersonal communication, gender studies, and mass communication. In addition to his duties as student and teacher, Chris also serves as the advisor for NDSU's student run radio station - 96.3 KNDS.

Gladys Namuganga

Gladys is a first year master's student and graduate teaching assistant. Her research interests are in organizational communication, crisis comunication and multi-cultural communication. She currently teaches Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110).

Bethany Pladson

Bethany is a master's student and graduate teaching Assistant. Her areas of interest include mediated communication and group/team communication. She is currently teaching Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110).

Jennifer Prokopowicz

Jennifer is a first year master's student and graduate teaching assistant. Her research interests include mass communication, public relations, and gender studies. She is currently teaching Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110).

Amber Rasche

Amber is a first year master's student and graduate teaching assistant. Her research interests include gender and communication, public relations, advertising and other mass mediated communication. Amber is currently teaching Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110).

Lezhao Ren

Ren's research interests include organizational communication, advertising, and statistics.

Michelle M. Roers

Michelle is a master's student and graduate teaching assistant. Her areas of interest include interpersonal, organizational, health, and crisis communication. Michelle's teaching experience includes small press publishing and public speaking courses.

Neil Scholoesser

Neil's research interests include existentialism, stream of consciousness writing, and new journalism.

Denise Brown Swain

Denise's research interests lie in speech communication and public speaking. She has a passion for equipping adults, and hopes to teach at the community college level and conduct corporate training. She currently resides in Alabama.

Danielle Teigen

Danielle is a first year master's student and graduate teaching assistant. Her research interests include mass media, crisis communication, and organizational communication. She is currently teaching one section of Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110) and one section of Introduction to Media Writing (COMM 200).

Andrea Weber

Andrea is a first year master's student and graduate teaching assistant. Her areas of interest include health, crisis, and organizational communication. She is currently teaching Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110).

Kristina Wenzel

Kristi is a master's student and graduate teaching assistant. Her areas of interestinclude organizational communication, work/family intersections, andcross-generational communication in families. She currently teaches Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110) and Introduction to Women's Studies.

Anne Zmyslinski

Anne is a first year master's student and graduate teaching assistant. Her research interests include interpersonal communication and how it relates to new technology. She is also interested in health communication. Currently, she is teaching two sections of Fundamentals of Public Speaking (COMM 110).
