Classes & CEUs

Distance and Continuing Education offers a variety of classes and certificates ranging from ones that can be used for a degree program to others for personal enrichment.  We encourage you to browse through all the classes and certificates in this section to find the classes that are right for you.  Be sure to look through the additional course information to determine if the class will meet your specific needs.

Categories of Classes

Credit
Classes that have credits listed (ex: 1 credit) offer college credit and are posted to your official NDSU transcript. These may be classes at the undergraduate, graduate, or professional development levels. Courses that are designated with 600 (ex: EDUC 600) are exclusively for professional development purposes. These 600 classes are generally used for maintaining a teaching license or other relevant professional license.

CEU
Classes that are listed as CEU or Continuing Education Units are used for maintaining a professional license. We offer a variety of CEUs for a variety of professions. These classes are not eligible for use on a degree program and are not posted on an official NDSU transcript. The Distance and Continuing Education office maintains a transcript system specifically designed for classes that offer CEUs.

NC
Classes that are listed as NC or Non-credit are often workshops, seminars, or conferences. These classes are generally for personal or professional enrichment and are not eligible for use on a degree program. Most professional workshops or seminars offer a certificate of completion.

Non-Credit Certificates
These non-credit certificates are generally for personal or professional enrichment. Please note these are not degree credit certificate programs. Upon completion of a non-credit certificate program you will receive a certificate of completion.
