Money Management Series
The money management series from NDSU Distance and Continuing Education is offered for those interested in learning the basics about investment and retirement planning to shape a better financial future. This is a personal finance training series with the opportunity to register for all 4 sessions or individual sessions. The Fargo series is led by Todd Olson, CFP. and the Grand Forks series is led by Chris Tostenson, licensed financial services representative.
Todd Olson, CFP® is an accomplished financial services representative with over 13 years of experience in the financial services industry. Olson obtained a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of North Dakota and has also obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. As a native of Fargo, North Dakota, Olson has grown to value the importance of family, friends and the community in which he lives. He makes it a priority to know and understand the investment and insurance industries to better educate and serve his clients, specializing in the areas of the sale and administration of investment accounts, personal and business retirement accounts, insurance products, and financial planning services.
Chris Tostenson is a licensed financial services representative with more than 6 years of experience in the financial services industry. Chris is a native of Fresno, California but has deep family roots in North Dakota. He is a proud graduate of the University of North Dakota. After college, he worked in his family’s successful business where he gained insight into the unique challenges of running a small business. Chris started his career in Financial Planning at the headquarters of a nationally recognized broker/dealer based out of Bismarck, ND. In 2008, Chris began working directly with clients, helping them to discover, plan and work toward their financial goals. Chris values the importance of full financial planning by taking time to understand what is important to his clients. He aids in creating, implementing and maintaining customized investment portfolios and retirement plans. He specializes in the sale and administration of investment accounts, personal and business retirement accounts, insurance products, and financial planning services. He holds the following professional licenses: series 7, series 63, series 66, and life and health insurance.
Each individual course is $25 or $75 if registering for all four. A discount rate is available to bring a friend or spouse for an additional $10 per course or $25 for all four courses. Advanced Estate Planning: This presentation will illustrate some estate planning strategies that may be appropriate for individuals who are concerned about minimizing gift and estate taxes, and individuals who have specific goals such as transferring a business interest, providing for a favorite charity, or protecting assets from future creditors
