The purpose of this course is to understand the structure and implementation of RTI, Response to Intervention. RTI; response to focuses on effective practices for helping all readers achieve, especially struggling readers, using simple and authentic instruction, assessments and support. This effort focuses on information needed to create a safety net that can save struggling readers before the learning gap widens forever.
Objectives:
As a result of participation in this course, students will:
- Be able to examine the structure and role of Response to Intervention (RTI), it implementation, intervention, and the three tiers of support.
- Be able to learn the criteria for selection of students for the three levels of instruction, the need for continues assessment, differentiation, and collaboration with other professionals.
