Website Design for Beginners

EDUC 600

Designed to teach non-technical teachers, this introductory course will explore building an educational website using a web design program and template. No technical knowledge of programming is required in this self-paced, step by step process. The instructor will walk you through designing, setup, and going live online.

Learn how to effectively use and implement a wide variety of electronic learning tools and activities for your classroom such as; On-line Digital Photos, Video, Power Points, Educational blogs and Web-Based Communications for collaborating on digital materials, units, stories, documentaries and activities.


As result of participation in this course, participants will:      

  • Develop a strong knowledge and understanding of the theoretical base and underlying basic concepts and principles of website design.
  • Enhance lessons plans, projects and activities with technology as measured by the Plan of Action and class participation.
  • Develop a working understanding of the several technologies as measured by class participation and the Plan of Action.
  • Know how to use the relevant and current research on this topic as well as an ability to apply technology information to their own professional setting as measured by the results of the research course requirements.
  • Integration of technology into their curriculum creating and collaborating on digital stories projects as measured by the Reflection assignment.
  • How to use the digital technology in the classroom to enhance student learning and motivation as measured by class participation.
  • How to use the latest computer technology and various software programs to improve student achievement as measured by student implementation of technology related activities.
  • Become familiar with education technology based sites for education.       
  • Be able to create educational web site and use technology to assist in student learning. 
  • Learn the benefits of electronic communication via the following modalities: student message boards, focus groups, and educational blogs and student electronic calendars.
