How to Add Wimba Tools to a Blackboard Course Shell
Wimba tools can be used to provide audio and video content and web-conferencing capability to a Blackboard course shell. Wimba tools are available as a Building Block to the Blackboard system and are available to all NDSU faculty.
To add Wimba tools, use the following process:
- Login to Blackboard and navigate to the course shell where you will be using Wimba.
- On the navigation bar, select Control Panel.
- On the Control Panel, select Manage Tools located near the lower left-hand corner of the screen.
- On the next screen, select Building Block Tool Availability from the choices.
- On the next screen, you will see a listing of all of the tools available for Blackboard.
- Scroll down until you find the tools that include the Wimba title.
- Select the checkbox that corresponds to each Wimba tool that you wish to use (place a checkmark in the box).
- Select the Submit button when you have completed your selections.
- On the next screen, you should see a confirmation.
- To access the Wimba Live Classroom select the Communication link on the navigation bar.
- You will see the Live Classroom listed.
