Course Description:

Cutting edge research emphasizes the importance of stimulating a child's brain long before that child enters kindergarten. Examine the implications of this research and explore the components of a successful early childhood classroom. Particular attention will be given to the important roles that music, art, language, and play have in the development of the neural networks from birth to age 5. Recommended PreK


The participant will:

1.  Understand brain development at ages 0-5 and how it affects children and learning.

2.  Understand the importance of challenge and stimulation in children 0-5.

3.  Explore essential components of a successful early childhood classroom.
