Course Description:

Ignite and rekindle your imagination and commitment as a middle school teacher. In this course you will explore the high-performance middle school classroom, delving into research-based techniques for working with the middle school student. Middle school teaming, pedagogy, advisory times and brain research will be addressed in this comprehensive course.


As a result of participation in this course, students should:

1. Explore strategies for motivating the middle school student

2. Understand the various aspects of teaming

3. Investigate effective authentic assessments

4. Examine the use of active learning in the classroom

5. Demonstrate the ability to incorporate effective middle school instructional strategies
