This course takes an exciting look at how technology is changing the landscape of education. You will have the opportunity to carefully examine anytime, anywhere learning that is supported by various technologies. Increased technology use begins to shift the role of the educator from instructor to facilitator forging new academic relationships. This course explores how to engage parents as partners, community experts and students as teachers. Technology affords educators collaborative, cooperative opportunities and this course not only gives educators insight into how education is changing it presents example after example of schools employing these tools and their changing philosophies about education. This course is your roadmap to meaningful technology integration that leads to empowered, energized and engaged students.
As a result of participation in this course, students should:
- Understand how technology is being used in classrooms to extend student learning;
- Understand why it is necessary to use technology in your classroom;
- Discover how to use technology to engage and empower students;
- Design curriculum that integrates technology in meaningful ways.
