Course Description:

We all know that being prepared is one of the most important aspects of being a teacher.  When teachers are absent it is important to be able to keep students on task and on schedule.  Whether you are absent because of illness, meetings and or professional development or whether you are covering for another teacher who is absent, the Substitute Folder allows you to develop all the necessary items needed for The Substitute to successfully complete your job or their job while you or they are away.


Participants will:

a. Create your daily work schedule (hour by hour)

b. Seating Chart and Attendance Roster for each class you teach

c. Give a brief description of the Text Book(s), you are using

d. Write Lesson Plans and assignments consistent with your subject

    (30 Lesson Plans, 30 worksheets)

e. Copy paper for the substitute to make copies 

f. List of Special instructions for Students and Special Needs students

g. Key list for your room (key numbers and what room they go with)

h. List of Safety/Security Personnel in your building who assist you

i. Phone list of teachers in your team with room and subjects taught

j. A phone list of all teachers in the building

k. The Administration Team phone list and your immediate supervisor

l. Secretaries Names and Titles in your building

m. Fire Drill/Severe Weather instructions

n. Make a Substitute Report Daily Report Form of your class

o. List of Restaurants in the area for Lunch/Take Out
