This course provides ideas on how educators can incorporate a classroom community partnership between parents, administrators, teachers, and the community in which they live in. Tips and strategies on how to build strong cooperative relationships are written about throughout this text. This class is appropriate for all teachers.
As a result of participation in this course, students should:
- Be able to implement strategies to improve family involvement in the classroom.
- Be able to benefit from family and community partnerships.
- Be able to internalize the authors’ points of view regarding the importance of teacher and family relationships and demonstrate this in the writing of reflections.

About The Instructor
Kevin Solum earned an M.Ed. In Teaching and Learning from St. Mary's University of Minnesota. His B.A. in Elementary Education is awarded from Concordia College in Moorhead. Kevin has over 10 years of experience teaching elementary school. Kevin is also a high school baseball coach.
