Course Description:
EduSites is a collection of blogs that look and act like a traditional website. In this hands on, project oriented workshop, teachers will start to create their classroom website. Much of the knowledge gained here is universal and can be applied to other blogging and web creation services. In addition to adding basic content to set-up your pages before going live, time will be spent to take their website to the next level by utilizing the Elegant Theme Buttons, activating plug-ins, and dressing it up a bit. This training will allow your participants to work on their pages with the EduTech trainer there to help. Participants should be prepared by bringing information they would like to add to their web pages.
Objectives:
Participants Will…
- Create, edit, and manage a classroom webpage
- Discuss various ways a website can be used in a classroom
- Explore tools and features to enhance their site for learning, including the Elegant Theme buttons
- Add enhancements to their current EduSites website with widgets
- Explore the available plug-ins and their features.
- Troubleshoot and maintain their current EduSite website.
Required Student Resources:
A laptop computer is required for this class. Participants will be expected to bring content materials (photos, websites, documents, etc) to create their classroom website.
