This course will explore using the Nurtured Heart Approach (NHA) as a social emotional curriculum in the classroom to build inner wealth within any age child, especially children with challenging behaviors. Participants will immediately learn precise tools related to the three stands within the NHA to use in their own life and to prepare for their fall classroom. Participants will discuss how NHA can fit in a multi-tier model of Response to Intervention-Behavior (RTI-B). Participants will be given practical ideas and implementation tools to propel towards success with this approach. All assignments will be completed in class and focused on practical, hands on ideas that extend current instruction in the classroom. In between face to face instruction, 1 hour of out of class time will be devoted to a book study.
