Course Description:

This course focuses on what STEM education is, why it is effective, and how to relate STEM education to the core disciplines and beyond.


  • Apply the Engineering Design Process (EDP), 21st century skills as components of STEM Education
  • Explain how Design Focused Learning (DFL) and STEM Education (the disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) permeates all  disciplines
    • Research and compose a philosophy for STEM Education
  • Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity (NETS T- 1)
    • Create a culture for growth among adolescent students
  • Design and Develop Digital Age Learning (NETS T-2)
    • Plan for  creative and authentic learning experiences (creativity 101)
    • Use technology as a tool for Design Focused Learning
