NDSU DCE OFFERS MENTAL HEALTH PRACTICE & LAW WORKSHOP

NDSU Distance & Continuing Education (DCE) in collaboration with Dr. Terence Barrett is offering a Mental Health Practice & Law workshop Wednesday, September 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the NDSU DCE classroom at the SGC Building. This workshop will explore the impact of the law on various aspects of mental health practice and is designed for counselors, social workers, psychologists, therapists and clergy.
The Mental Health Practice & Law workshop offers practical guidelines for managing a variety of common legal concerns, review of various ethical standards of practice in case studies, and avoiding professional role confusion in legal matters. This workshop is 5.5 continuing education contact hours. CEU's have been approved for NBCC counselors, ND social workers as well as general CEU requests. Cost is $99.00 per participant with lunch included.
Dr. Barrett is a licensed psychologist in Fargo with experience in childhood trauma, sexual assault, torture, crime and war. He currently teaches Clinical Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Understanding Suicide, and Understanding Self-Injury courses. Dr. Barrett has conducted seminars on a variety of current therapy issues and has provided over 100 professional presentations.
