NATIONALLY KNOWN SPEAKER TO PRESENT SMART DISCIPLINE®

“Smart Discipline: Program for Parents” will be the topic of nationally known speaker Dr. Larry Koenig when he presents at North Dakota State University (NDSU) on Tuesday, August 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Festival Concert Hall. This presentation is free and open to the public due to sponsorship from Innovis Health and NDSU. Pre-registration is recommended because of limited seating.
Dr. Larry Koenig is the founder of Smart Discipline and the author of numerous books, including Smart Discipline and Smart Discipline for the Classroom. Dr. Koenig has been featured on PBS, National Public Radio, and in People Magazine.
“Smart Discipline: Program for Parents” teaches parents how to banish the top seven misbehaviors of children. The workshop focuses on the importance of a good discipline plan and how to design effective rules. It also demonstrates how to build high self-esteem in children and the five-step process in utilizing important beliefs. Learn this simple, dramatically effective system to help your children follow the rules at home and at school.
NDSU Distance & Continuing Education will also offer “Dealing with Children Today: Discipline, Bullying, and Emotions” a program for professionals on Wednesday, August 13 from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. in the NDSU Festival Concert Hall. CEU’s and professional development credit for teacher’s will be available.
"Dealing with Children Today: Discipline, Bullying, and Emotions” is a program for teachers, childcare workers, social workers, counselors or anyone who works with children. Topics to be covered include: Smart Discipline, Bullying, and Helping Children with Difficult Emotions Develop Emotional Intelligence & Respectful Behavior. Presenters include: Dr. Larry Koenig; Dr. Wendy Troop-Gordon, assistant professor of Psychology at NDSU; and Dr. Joel Hektner, associate professor in Child Development and Family Science at NDSU. Registration fee for the professional day is $49.
