NDSU

Dining Services is conscious of its environmental practices and has implemented a number of programs to help reduce waste and save energy.

  • Dining centers have gone tray less in an effort to reduce water and chemical usage.
  • Recycling cardboard, plastic, metal and newsprint reduces solid waste and saves on collection and disposal costs.
  • A Mug Refill Special has been started in the Dining Services retail operations. Refill your own mug with coffee, hot chocolate or pop and save $.29. This does not need to be an NDSU mug, but any mug you would like to bring with you! This will reduce the use of paper, plastic and Styrofoam cups which contribute to the depletion of our natural resources.
  • All of the used oil from Dining Services is converted into bio diesel fuel by Brekke Organic Farms for use in their machinery.
