The Office for Equity, Diversity, and Global Outreach oversees campus-wide efforts to create a campus community that is actively committed to inclusion and pluralism. The office handles matters related to equity, diversity, and equal opportunity/affirmative action for the main campus including the ND Agricultural Experiment Station in Fargo, its research and extension centers throughout the state, and the NDSU Extension Service including its county offices.

General Information about the Office of Equity, Diversity, and Global Outreach

Mission Statement:

The division of Equity, Diversity, and Global Outreach serves the NDSU campus, along with its alumni, community, and global neighbours. We value justice and unity, promote acceptance of all cultures and foster inclusive relationships. Through outreach and service, the division prepares global citizens to understand, respect, and accept.

Specifically, The Office for Equity, Diversity and Global Outreach

  • Coordinates the university's efforts to create an organizational climate that encourages and respects diversity and complies with federal and state civil rights laws.
  • Addresses informal equal opportunity grievances and coordinates the formal equal opportunity grievance process.
  • Provides formal and informal programs and training about equity and diversity issues for faculty, staff, students and administrators.
  • Monitors the recruitment/selection process for all NDSU non-broadbanded staff, faculty and major administrators.
