NOMINATION INSTRUCTIONS

To continue work that carries a legacy of change in a history of prejudice, discrimination, and exclusion in our society, recipient(s) of the Diversity Impact Award will be recognized annually during the Green and Golden Globe Diversity Awards. 

This award will consist of $500 donated to the charity of the recipient’s choice. 

Purpose

To recognize individuals, groups, and units campus and community-wide that have demonstrated a significant contribution to advancing diversity as related to The NDSU Division of Equity, Diversity and Global Outreach Strategic Plan, through positive interactions with others, a respect and value for differing backgrounds and points of view within and/or external to NDSU. 

Description 

The 2012-2013 NDSU DIVISION OF EQUITY, DIVERSITY AND GLOBAL OUTREACH DIVERSITY IMPACT AWARD will be given annually to an individual, group, or unit that has actively and positively promoted the concept of diversity by enhancing or contributing to the overall environment of the community or university. 

Criteria 

The recipient will have demonstrated a high regard for diversity by demonstrating one or more of the following: 

• Commitment to the spirit of diversity.
• Leadership through positive interaction among persons of diversity identities and backgrounds.
• Behavior that illustrates commitment to inclusion of persons within the institution who are members of traditionally under-represented groups.

Eligibility

All campus and community members, groups, and units are eligible for this nomination. 

Nomination Process 

Nominations may be made by any community member, NDSU student, and staff or faculty member.  Nomination forms may be accessed electronically or in PDF form (see links below). Award recipients will be selected by a committee appointed by the NDSU Division of Equity, Diversity and Global Outreach.  Nominations are now being accepted. Please send nominations to the Diversity Impact Awards Committee at NDSU Equity, Diversity, and Global Outreach in Old Main 205.
