I. Announcements

A. NCORE Conference - Boswell briefly reported on the conference, he will send out more information later. Next year's conference is in Miami.

B. Cultural Programming Summit - Wednesday, June 11, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in Alumni Center.

II. Update on Climate Assessment
A. 1625 usable surveys were submitted with a good response rate from groups that are traditionally underrepresented.

B. Sue is analyzing the data and will have a preliminary report ready in Fall Semester. She will come to present that information to the Diversity Council in September.

C. Additional focus groups will meet after preliminary results are presented to gather more information about the survey results.

III. Planning for next year

A. Boswell, Thoennes, Holbrook, Spiering, and Stack volunteered for a subcommittee to discuss presentations to campus groups in the fall. Questions to be considered include: what groups to present survey results to, what to include in the presentation, and who will do the presentations.

IV. Recruiting Brochure Committee Update

A. Committee is collecting brochures and gathering information. They will continue to work on this and will report back later.

B. Holbrook reported that her graduate assistant has surveyed academic departments for information about professional groups specifically intended for different ethnic and cultural groups. This information has been compiled and is available on the Equal Opportunity web page for those engaged in recruitment efforts for faculty.

V. Diversity Council membership

A. Think about any groups that are currently not represented. We are especially concerned about maintaining students with the Council. Paul Lundstrom will be away from campus during Fall, but would like to stay connected with the Council. Anderson is checking for other students to fill that void in representation.

VI. Fall schedules/meeting time

A. We will try for another Friday a.m. meeting in the Fall.

VII.Other business

A. No meeting in July
B. Next meeting: TBA
