I. Introductions & Welcome to New Members
A. New members: Holly Bastow-Shoop, Gene Berry, Dan Ewert, Kenny Gillies, Bunnie Johnson-Messelt, Shanda Larsen and James Larson
II.Upcoming Events
A.TOCAR Level I (evening, October 5, all day October 6 at Concordia) & Level II (evening November 4, all day November 5-6). Send Sandy names of interested individuals ASAP.
B.Will be a TOCAR Level I at NDSU during Spring Semester 2005
C.Take Back the Night-Tuesday, September 28, meet at 6:30 pm at the NDSU Library--will walk to Herbergers in Moorhead (a ride back to campus will be provided)
III.Strategic Plan Discussion
* Still in draft form
*Discussed clarifications and updates from subcommitteess
*Subgroups need to meet one more time before next DC meeting in October
--Review "resources" (includes people, operating and equipment expenses) and "time frame" columns
--If action step is existing, be sure to indicate with a checkmark in "time frame" column
--New DC members will join up with existing subcommittees; Sandy will send updated list of subcommittee membership
--Ahmed will chair Group 2: "Curriculum & Pedagogy"
*Share strategic plan in October/November
--Discuss 5 objectives and groups of action items
--Add to website
--Share with President's Council, University Senate, Staff Senate, etc.
--Condense into brochure
--Ask Sue Rankin for suggestions (she will be here one more time--what is the best time for her to return?)
--Craig and Sandy will develop talking points
--Send format ideas to Sandy (ways to make interesting, challenging, interactive, brief, etc.)
--Will be highlighted in State of the University Address

A.Pictures of new members needed.
Can have picture taken from 9 AM--11 AM on Wednesday in Pub Services. Mention picture is for DC and ask photographer to mail pictures to Amy Ochoa. If you have an existing picture at Pub Services that you like, let Sandy know.
B.Need events for DC web page calendar

V. DC Info Table
September 14-16 and September 21-23 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in Union, sign up sheet routed. Send materials to include on table to Sandy.
VI.Subcommittee formed to explore policy options related to maternity/parental leave for 9-10 month faculty
Members include: Holly Bastow-Shoop, Gene Berry, Paul Lundstrom, Sandy Holbrook and Rhonda Kitch.
VII.Sandy will collect calendars and look at meeting times for the first week in October.
