Update on strategic plan
. On Diversity Council website early next week
. Distribute hard copies to administrators/division heads Diversity Council and Anti-Racism Team in October
. Presentations on agenda and scheduling more
. For next meeting, please review the matrix showing action steps that Diversity Council is responsible for and be prepared to discuss how we can begin to implement them
Bias report form
. Suggestions for changing the name of the form to include bigotry/victim/hate crime. Team will discuss options and make final decision.
. Suggestions for publicizing: Spectrum article that would include examples of bias - ask Christy Simmons, asst. editor to write story; business cards to hand out to students and place on counters in Varsity Mart; incorporate into web pages of individual colleges in addition to Diversity Council web page; present form in leadership workshops
. Bias response team: vision of a fluid group so that appropriate contacts can be made according to each incident; distinguish between official vs. nonofficial response to incidents; follow-up of response to reports should be well documented.
