Announcements:
• Reminder TOCAR Training: Level II (joint with Concordia and MSUM), April 20-22.
• Level I - 4-hour training on April 17 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. (including lunch). Send any suggestions for participants for either training to Kristina (kristinaann.peterson@ndsu.edu) ASAP.
• Judith Lorber - Thursday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Beckwith Auditorium. Lorber is a sociologist and author and the Diversity Council is a co-sponsor of her presentation.
• Civil Education Month activities:
Kara handed out brochures.
Jane Elliott - Tues., April 11, 7-10 p.m. in Festival Hall.
• Safe Zone and Campus Pride Week, April 3-7; "Gay? Fine by me" campaign. Events are posted on Diversity Council website.
• Powwow - Saturday, April 22, at Bison Sports Arena.
Special honor at 8:30 p.m.
Programs will be for sale.
• Sandbagging in the F/M area this weekend due to expected flooding. Sandbag U - check at contact tables in the Union.
• Indian taco and silent auction - April 3rd.
• International Night tonight in Century Theater.
Plan Review Teams for Strategic Plan - suggestions for team members (handout).
• Discussion was held regarding one team vs. several or one large team with subcommittees.
Reports from subcommittees re: action steps for Diversity Council 2005-06
• Subcommittee: Institutional Commitment (Schnell)

• Subcommittee: Learning and Pedagogy (Burnett)
o Handout provided.
• Subcommittee: Recruitment and Retention (Holbrook)
o Group did not meet this month.
o Search committee training - August for faculty/June or July for broadband hiring teams.
Issue of religious-based programming:

Suggestions for new Council members:
• A few spots available due to member request for leave or rotation up.
Update – Bias Report Project
• Placement of hard copies/distribution of cards/link to form.

• Friday, May 19, 2006, in Meineke, 11:30 a.m.
