American Indian Initiative
Invites American Indian students from area tribal colleges to work with NDSU faculty on science, mathematics and engineering projects. Students tour labs, learn about careers and present their research.
Association of Students from India
Promotes friendship and cultural exchange between the students from India, students from other nationalities and the community. A variety of activities are planned and assistance is provided to incoming students from India.
Black Student Organization
We promote social and educational awareness for NDSU students through cultural and social events focusing on African-American and African cultures. All NDSU students are welcome. Please come and enjoy. We look forward to your participation.
Change Agent States for Diversity
The Change Agent States for Diversity (CASD) project, initiated by Cooperative Extension, is a catalytic step in beginning the transformation of the Land Grant system. It is a consortium of eight state dedicated to supporting greater cultural diversity in the Land Grant system, by bringing the needed technical skills and training to each of the member states. Through this collaborative approach, the consortium will develope successful models and strategies that can be applied throughout the system.
Disability Services
Oversees campus policy/procedures relating to the Americans with Disabilities Act and student access to education. Students who have functional limitations that impede access to the educational process, and who present documentation of disabilities, receive reasonable accommodations.
International Programs
Provides leadership and support services for all aspects of international education at NDSU. The office facilitates international opportunities for students, staff and faculty and coordinates international exchange agreements. The program assists international students and scholars before and after their arrival at NDSU and coordinates international activities on campus.
International Student Association
Promotes friendship and community at NDSU through social and cultural activities. Membership is open to NDSU students from around the world, including the U.S.
McNair Scholar's Program
Prepares upper-division and graduate students for successful participation in graduate education. One of the principle purposes of the program is to increase the number of professors from traditionally underrpresented populations.
Multicultural Student Services
Works with students to create a culturally diverse and sensitive campus environment. MSS provides student support programs, cultural and personal growth experiences and serves as an advocate for minority issues on our campus.
National Science Foundation ADVANCE Grant
The goal of the ADVANCE program is to boost the number of women working in the fields of science by increasing the representation and advancement of women in academic science and engineering careers. The ADVANCE program provides award opportunities for both individuals and organizations. A committee is working on a grant application to begin institutional transformation at NDSU.
Native American Pharmacy Program
Recruits and facilitates the entry of Native American students into the College of Pharmacy and provides counseling and retention services to increase the likelihood of academic success. The Dakota Medial Foundation of Fargo funds the program.
Native American Student Association
NASA members are NDSU students interested in teh American Indian culture. NASA members support American Indian cultural events on the NDSU campus, help plan and attend social events thorughout the year, and organize student fund-raisers, such as Indian Taco Day. The organization is open to all current NDSU students.
NDSU FORWARD
NDSU FORWARD is committed to establish a university culture in which all are nurtured and supported to develop their fullest potential, and the criteria for success and achievement incorporate unique skills and contributions of both men and women. NDSU FORWARD will be instrumental in creating a culture of support balanced with concern for personal and family values and responsibilities, enhancing job performance and satisfaction. We envision an environment where women are leaders and decision makers at all levels of the University. North Dakota BRIN
NDSU is a lead research institution in the North Dakota Biomedical Research Infrastructure Network, which promotes biomedical research in the state. One of BRIN's objectives is to increase the number of science students from tribal colleges and baccalaureate institutions who go to careers in biomedical research. The Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPOSCoR) supports this endeavor.
Safe Zone
Faculty, staff and students who want to visibly show their support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered persons can volunteer to be part of the Safe Zone Program. Individuals interested in participating must attend a Safe Zone training workshop. http://mu.ndsu.edu/safezone/
Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
Stimulates women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expands the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life and demonstrates the value of diversity. Open to men and women of any major.
Ten Percent Society
Provides social activities, support and education to lesbian, gay, straight, transgendered students, faculty and staff and straight allies. This dual-college organization is registered at both NDSU and MSUM.
Union of Chinese Students and Scholars
The purpose of UCSS is to organize activities of interest and to provide assistance for new students coming to Fargo.
Women's Studies Program
Women's Studies is an interdisciplinary academic program that focuses on women in society and offers and undergraduate minor and a graduate emphasis. Founded in 1978, the program is spnsored jointly by the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Human Development and Education.
