NDSU Women's Club

NDSU Women’s Club was established in 1920 to serve as a nonprofit educational organization to enhance relationships within the University and surrounding communities. The group offers interest group opportunities for the members and provides academic scholarship to eligible NDSU students. Three large seasonal events for the entire membership are offered in Fall, Winter, and Spring. Event dates will be shared here as they become available.

 

Interest Groups

Book Group- An individual book reading group where participants share/summarize their book. Book exchange options available. The group meets the second Tuesday evening of each month. For more information email Bushra Ahmad.

Events and Happenings- Are you interested in attending events in and around your locale? E&H takes you to plays, short excursions, concerts, and other local events. The groups meets at various times and dates. For more information email Eileen Lee.

Film Group- Share movie time with friends. This group plans to sample a broad array of movies, indie films, and documentaries offered in Fargo-Moorhead. The group meets at various times and dates. For more information email Mary Bjerke.

International Women's Group- Meets for evenings of diverse programs on countries or topics of current interest along with samples of international cuisine. The group meets the third Thursday evening of each month. For more information email Mary Bjerke.

Midday Meetup – Casual lunche gathering for conversation, news exchanges, and whatever comes up. Often the incubator of new ideas for volunteering and events. The group meets the second Wednesday noontime of each month. For more information email Sandy Huseby.

Poetry Writing Group- Be prepared to read and write with this group. Monthly prompts/ideas on a subject or poetry form with examples to help you get the ideas flowing for your poems! The group meets the second Tuesday at noon each month. For more information email Bibi Khan.

Travel Group- This group links you to organizations (such as Pink Bus Mystery Trips, Judy's Leisure Tours, Sons of Norway, etc.) that have day and overnight trips to theaters, national and state parks, regional and even global destinations. The group meets at various times and dates. For more information email Pat Kotta.

Valley Gardeners- Garden tours and programs, DIY projects, plant exchange, and garden information sharing. The group meets at various times and dates. For more information contact Emily Hilgers or Darlene Rogers.

Scholarship Award Program (Click here for information and application)
Scholarships are supported by members’ dues and donations. Half of all membership dues are dedicated to scholarships at NDSU. Volunteer Opportunities

ACTion Team - members in partnership with community organizations have included A Women's Perspective at the Hjemkomst, Habitat for Humanity/Women-Build, United Way's Backpack Project for school children. ACTion Team facilitates volunteer action projects that are open to all members.

JOLT (Just One Little Thing) - gives any member the opportunity to volunteer with events setup and other one-time needs of the club.
