ECS 770 Environmental Law and Policy


ECS 770 ENVIRONMENTAL LAW AND POLICY, Fall Semester, 2007.

This course will be an introduction to major federal and state statues and regulatory programs that govern environmental quality, pollution control and wildlife management, including legislative enactment, regulatory development, enforcement, federal/state relationship and judicial interpretation.

Instructor: Tami Norgard, J.D, M.S.L., is a practicing attorney who routinely counsels clients and litigates in the area of environmental law and land use. Ms. Norgard represents private, non-profit and government entities at the federal, state and local levels. She previously taught Environmental Law at NDSU, at the University of North Dakota Law School, and at the University of Minnesota.

The course is held Mondays, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., room Dolve Hall 204. The call number is 12279.

The Textbook is Plater, Abrams Goldfarb and Graham: "Environmental Law and Policy: Nature, Law and Society", 3rd edition, Aspen Publishing.
